Two minute read.

Let’s jump back to the idea that we opened up last week which dealt with creating a space in our lives. We do this all the time with things that cannot accomplish nearly what God can accomplish.

It’s like being Surfer Dude or a Surfer Chick!

If you have a passion for riding waves and you believe the waves are going to be breaking today, guess what? You would not need to try and transform the ocean, you just need to put yourself into the ocean as long as you have a righteous board, of course.

As we noted before, You and I need to let God be God, He is a transformer unlike any other.

There is an old axiom that says: “We Measure What Matters.” If we are pursuing the life of God, how could we measure that?

I said earlier that Jesus was confident about His Mission and Message. He always Measured His success relative to one thing – RELATIONSHIPS!

Jesus was constantly challenged by the Religious Mafia (think Pharisees) on the matter of whom he built relationships. They included; Prostitutes, Lepers, Tax Collectors, the Poor, those hungry for Justice, those who showed Mercy, and those who worked for Peace. Mark 12:30-31 shows what Jesus brought forth to those who could care less.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second one is this; Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

What do you think motivates a question like this? Which is the most important?

Take people who measure their lives by some standard other than their relationships. Jesus knew their motivation and His answers challenged them to their core!

Check this out. Mark records a final statement in the awesome 12th chapter – And from then on no-one dared ask Him any more questions.

They were tired of hearing that their Religion of Regulations and Rules could not change anyone.

It’s no different today: Religion = Self Reliance, Relationship = Self Surrender

Stay tuned for Thursday of this week as we conclude Create The Space -3

God’s Peace,

MC
