Two minute read.

Sometimes we act as if the process of transformation is the same for everyone on the journey of life. Sometimes we forget that each one of us is UNIQUE! Thank God for that.

What would grow an orchid, would drown a cactus. God has a plan, we may call it: “God’s Will….” It is personally prepared just for you, not anyone one else.

At times, all of us feel envy that others seem to get what we were hoping for ourselves. Have you experienced that in your life?

Jesus prayed in John 17, listen to what Jesus did and did not say:

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24

Father make those who follow me identical – NOT!

Father may those who follow me, be one with you – CONGRUENT!

The Message we spoke of and the Measure we spoke of actually never ever change.

Train an 80-pound gymnast and a 280-pound linebacker the same. You would end up with a useless 190-pound “gymbacker.”

What do you do that makes you feel fully alive?

Find that and you locate God’s Means for Transforming your life!

Maybe you feel alive when:

  • Reading a great book
  • Laughing with a friend
  • Watching a movie
  • Playing an instrument
  • Taking a long walk solo or with another
  • Pursuing a hobby

Perhaps you and I at times may think; Those can’t be God’s Means, they’re not Spiritual enough.

A Spiritual Discipline is simply an activity we engage in to be made more fully alive by the Spirit of Life.

Henri Nouwen makes an important point regarding the connection between Disciple and Discipline. A discipline is something that creates space in our lives. Not just space for space’s sake.  It’s space for Jesus, to draw us into areas many of us have yet to imagine.

Don’t give up, give in.
