2 minute read.

Church and Culture, or Culture and Church, however, you see it, we should remember that the two are after the same thing;

How to Make Life Work.

The Culture misunderstands the Church and the Church is confused by the Culture. And it seems that both have forgotten how to communicate with each other going forward.

The Church needs a credible voice in the Culture. We have to speak in a way that people will listen.

When we build bridges through our relationships we may be surprised at how we might be listened to. Bridges have always made a difference in getting people home.

Jesus had a knack for listening to those who came to Him to ask, and to question, and to express their misunderstanding. The way he approached those who challenged him had a huge difference, and I believe it still does.

When we, who call ourselves Christians, refuse to listen to the Culture we live in, we’ve missed a huge opportunity Jesus style.

The Church needs credible voices, we have to speak in a new way. What will that look like for you and me?

For me, I believe we should begin with LISTENING to others whose perspectives lean differently from ours. Jesus did, and many found his words to be – How to Make Life Work.

As Paul noted when he was asked to speak to the Athenians in

Acts 17:28 here’s how he brought forth Jesus;

For in him we live and move and have our being.

Next week let’s pick back up on the ending of PIVOT 3.

We’ll be talking about – Thoughtful Engagement

Blessings,

MC
