Two minute read.

10 years ago, a guy named Rob Bell wrote a book worth reading. In fact, Bell had already had 6 books published by that time.

There were a lot of so called Christians who, at that time, began to think “the heck with Rob Bell.”

Bell himself and many others including myself began to wonder, what’s next for Rob Bell?

Thankfully, Brother Bell continued writing, and ran all over these United States of America. Bell seemingly enjoys sharing with others, IDEAS!

That’s right, IDEAS! Bell loved to throw us curve balls which at times opened up large numbers of people who saw in Bell a way to be a follower of Jesus.

In 2013 Bell wrote the book: What We Talk About When We Talk About GodOn page 99 (scary number, right) Bell noted this;

There is. I believe, another way to see God, a way in which we see God with us-with us, right here. right now. This isn’t just an idea to me; this is an urgent, passionate, ecstatic invitation to wake up, to see the world as it truly is.

There is so much we miss day by day regarding God. Seriously, imagine how much we have missed not connecting with God. How can we miss someone as Big and Expansive as God?

Perhaps, it has something to do with our – AGENDA! An agenda that keeps us focused on items we find are more important to us than God.

Here are 4 choices moving forward:

  1. We can choose not to believe in God.
  2. We can choose to reduce God to our own agenda.
  3. We can trust in traditional religion.
  4. We can trust in Jesus.

I like number 4 “trust in Jesus”. The way forward in which we could see God with us, right here, right now.

Seeing is the first step to pretty much anything.

And just below the surface of life itself there is a lot of significant stuff for us to explore daily.

But in order for us to see, we have to be present. Ancient Hebrews had a way to describe moments where we are AWARE of something more!

They expressed it as a divine energy. They called it the ruach of God. That word for them defined the life force God had planted into every human being.

As one of the Psalm writers asked:

Where can I go  from your spirit, where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

We will pick back up on Tuesday next week. In the meantime, try to think about your own life force that God has given to you. It is there!

Blessings and Peace
