Two minute read.

What does it mean to you to work at Movement?

Many people would say what many people would say! But that seems to me to be a cop-out. It seems to me, that there are many who are continuing to MOVE but actually don’t or don’t want to.

As I think about this, I sense there are many who, like me, wonder what keeps us from moving forward. A lot of things. And in order to not lose you to this post because you are feeling like a DOWNER, allow this to help.

I am a procrastinator, I look and think, and wonder whether what I am about to do will work; and whether it will bring me what I set out to accomplish.

Now, I hope you feel better because I want you to stay through this post because I believe there is something here for you and me to unpack.

We’ll come back later but for now, I want to bring up these two words everyone loves to hear; Value Added.

That catchy phrase, by the way, wasn’t an invention of some advertisement executive, because all of what we choose to do has some value added to it or we probably would not do it. You know, like clean your bathroom.

Those ladies and gentlemen at the advertisement place did not co-opt it from God; …..I have come that you might have life and have it to the full. (John 10:10b)

That statement from Jesus had all the markings of a Madison Avenue windfall, and living life to the full defines the Life God is offering us today.

Jesus amazed people because he spoke with authority. When we live so many years pursuing the status quo, it is amazing to be told; there is a NEW WAY you and I can live.

That word we opened with – Movement, is a word we will have to work on if we are to find what I’d like to call LIFE MOVEMENT.

There are sometimes in life when we find ourselves stuck and stagnant. We tend toward being inactive, without motion or movement. We’re alive but we know there must be more to life than what we’re experiencing.

So what’s the next step for us? Why are we not taking it?

In the next blog post, we will hear from this Jesus. He is having a conversation with a friend of his, a disciple named Thomas. You may know him as Doubting Thomas.

Blessings – Pastor Mike
