Two minute read.

What about YOU? What about ME? What about US? Is God able to accomplish that in our lives? That’s a lot of ????

I think so. I think God longs to share with us that which He has brought to us. We can call it a reward perhaps, as we pursue the life of God.

Though King David was a man after God’s own heart, he was human and therefore sinful at times. In II Samuel 11 we see this piece; David and Bathsheba. Inside of that as we read we run into 5 Sins that David committed.

In II Samuel12 we see Nathan comes to rebuke David.

And Nathan said to David, “The Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die. Then Nathan went to his house.

Back to Psalm 51 where David begins with;

Have mercy on me, O God. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin, for I know my transgressions. And my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight.”

You may want to continue through the remainder, and I would encourage to do that. But David must have known the Lord God unlike so many others. See the presence of our God was the power in David. And how would we act at such a time as this?

Look at The Parable of the Prodigal Son. In Luke 15:20 see how this catches us by surprise.

 “And he arose and came to his Father. But while he was still a long way off, his Father saw him and felt compassion and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

When we talk about stuff like this we are literally talking playing a game of comparison. Let’s take this home.

The need for affluence in many areas all around us seems capricious, because it is determined by impulsivity. And yet what we desperately need is not affluence but influence which is inside all of us if we take the time to hear it.

We are born as influencers on the journey that God has called us to.

In closing out, what might happen if you and I and thousands of others quit trying to prove who we are so that others might see us?

Let’s stop competing with others.

Let’s look to Jesus who needed not to compete but simply to be true to all who came in touch with Him.

Blessings dear friends,

Pastor Mike
