Two minute read.

Do you often think about the things that come into your life and how this will make a difference? I think most people do.

We’re going to take 3 blog posts this week and next and I hope you will be able to join us moving forward with – where do we go from here.

The New Testament is about the captivating story of the Good News. It is the counter narrative to the culture we all live in. Those who pursue Jesus will not be surprised that He came to announce the Kingdom of God.

In Mark 1:15 Jesus notes:

“The time has come and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the Gospel.”

That bolded word repent actually means to rethink the way you have been thinking. Or, in other means, you and I have an opportunity to look backwards in regards to what Jesus is talking about. An alternative path of life that fulfills what John Eldredge called; The Journey of Desire, a journey for all, who are ready, created in the Image of God and drawn to that Image in Community with others.

But right now we are changing from Mark to Luke and for a good reason. Luke was primarily helping us to see what many noted as The Gospel of Stories.

This is particularly important because you and I think about LIFE through stories. Luke’s stories help us apply his writing into our lives.

So I’d love for a number of us to take some time next week to read through Luke’s Gospel. Here’s what I think that might look like:

  • 24 Chapters, divided by 7 days equals 3.5 each day.
  • Ask God before each reading for revelation
  • Note any thought you receive
  • Share that thought with others
  • Your effort expands our understanding
  • You are equipped and God is honored!

Remember that Reading should lend itself to Responding. And I want to challenge all of us to stay the course.

I pray you will have a wonderful Weekend!

God’s Peace,

MC
